Bula Vinaka!
We invite you to let yourself, surrender to the island. Created for you, our cultural healing experience comes immersed in most the traditional island culture of Kadavu, Fiji.
We will translate the ancient Fijian Tradition of botanical medicine and touch that heals; to refresh your soul, rejuvenate your body, rekindle your passions, and revitalize your happiness. Vunuku is to be a destination spa, wellness experience, as unique as the island and culture that we’ll share. Connoisseurs and first timers beware; you’ll never want to leave!
Vunuku is the ancestral retreat of our indigenous partners with whom we’re developing this eco-resort. Our stringent green commitment will not compromise your luxury. We offer 34 eco-luxe beachfront bures, each with its own private spa bure located 100 meters above the beach, at the healing village.
Our gourmet island cuisine will pay homage to our bountiful organic farm and the teeming sea; featuring the freshest of the day with a unique menu every night. We’ll offer multi-cultural Fijian Cuisine with several local cooks and chefs to deliver 100% authentic flavors.
Whether you’re here for serenity, relaxation, or adventure too; Vunuku’s activities will all make use of the natural wonders on our property, and the 4th largest barrier reef on Earth. We don’t expect you to plan your day, so we’ll make every effort to give you what you want, when you want it.
Vunuku’s essence is to provide a dream vacation by showcasing the Fijian culture. Inspired by our landowner partners, we’ll develop the site to compliment its natural wonder and highlight its unique treasures. Our resort will be built and operated green, to impact our site and surrounding area as little as possible. Our business is built on a sustainable commitment, to eventually impact and benefit the lives of each of Kadavu’s 12,000 villagers. Based on this pledge, we’ve earned the support of Ed Begley, Jr. activist and actor; he brings a wealth of knowledge and resources to ensure our success.
You will be able to keep up with our progress two ways. First keep visiting Vunuku.com, we’ll be updating regularly with new content and links. Second, you’ll be able to watch us break ground and construct our first few bures on TV! Building Green TV (check here for more details) will document Vunuku’s planning and construction in its second 13+ episode season. We’re going to begin filming in a few weeks, and within a year it will begin airing on PBS network in the USA. It will quickly follow around the Pacific! The show will have its own website to visit and we’re going to Blog about our experience living on Vunuku during construction. We’ll be blogging with the sand between our toes.
